Day 1: UK - Kuala Lumpur
Arrive at Kuala Lumpur’s airport, where you’ll meet your guide and transfer to the hotel to settle in. (Meals: none)
Day 2: Kuala Lumpur
Discover this magical city on a morning tour, admiring the array of architecture, from old Chinese houses to colonial buildings. Visit the National Monument and the King’s Palace, then move on the National Mosque, surrounded by lush gardens. Lastly, you’ll visit the Petronas Twin Towers, an emblem of the city’s skyline. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 3: Kuala Lumpur
Enjoy a free day to explore at your own pace. You could climb the Menara Kuala Lumpur for spectacular views, or learn more about the country’s religious side at the Batu Caves. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 4: Kuala Lumpur - Sandakan
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan, a city on the northeast coast of Borneo. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 5: Sandakan
Today will be jam-packed with incredible wildlife sights, starting with a visit to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where you’ll see these wonderful creatures being fed and visit baby Orangutans in their nursery. Then, you’ll continue to the Sun Bear Conservation Centre, and, after lunch, visit the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 6: Sandakan - Kota Kinabalu
Fly to Kota Kinabalu today, the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah which sits of the coast and is surrounded by rainforest. Transfer to your hotel and settle in. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 7 - 10: Kota Kinabalu
Spend four days at leisure here. If you need some R&R, the beach and pool are on hand, but if you’d rather keep exploring there’s plenty to do here: you could go snorkelling or scuba diving, climb mount Kinabalu or visit the Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu Mosque, which sits impressively in the middle of a lake. (Meals: breakfast, two dinners)
Day 11: Kota Kinabalu - UK
After a final morning, transfer to the airport for your flight home. (Meals: breakfast)
