Day 1: UK - Hanoi

Fly from your UK departure airport, spending a night on board before you land in Hanoi, Vietnam’s beautifully chaotic capital. You’ll be met and transferred to your hotel, then spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Hanoi

Kick-off your first morning with a half-day walking tour. You’ll visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Presidential Palace and other important buildings in the city centre, then move on to see a more spiritual side to the city at the Quan Thanh Taoist Temple, the Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda and the Confucian Temple of Literature. Spend your afternoon at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay

Transfer to Ha Long Bay by bus, and embark on your traditional Vietnamese junk boat, ready to sail the emerald waters. While onboard you’ll have the opportunity to kayak, try your hand at squid fishing and experience all that Ha Long Bay has to offer. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 4: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi - Overnight train


Wake up to sunrise over the limestone pillars of this magnificent bay, then enjoy brunch before disembarking and driving back to Hanoi. On arrival, you’ll be taken to the train station to board your overnight train to Hue. Settle into your first-class (shared) cabin for the night. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Hue

Arrive in Hue in the morning, then head out to visit the Hue Citadel and Royal Antique Museum. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: lunch)

Day 6: Hue - Hoi An

Spend your morning sailing along the Huong river by boat to Thien Mu Pagoda, then drive to Hoi An. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a walking tour of this fascinating ancient city, seeing all the highlights. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Hoi An

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the town at your own pace. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s former capital and the centre of the country’s fraught history. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City


Enjoy a morning tour of this fascinating city, visiting the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office and Thien Hau Temple, all wonderful examples of architecture from Ho Chi Minh’s varying cultural history. Enjoy a free afternoon - why not visit the famous Ben Thanh Market to shop for souvenirs. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City - UK

Spend a free day exploring until the time comes to transfer to the airport for your late evening flight back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)
