Discover some of Thailand’s highlights across three of its most impressive destinations; from the bright lights of Bangkok to the beaches of Krabi, with excursions to the Death Railway and Hellfire pass - includes all travel

Days 1 & 2: Bangkok

Touching down in Bangkok you’ll stay at the upmarket Furama Silom. Thailand's legendary vibrant capital is a feast for the senses – an intoxicating mix of temples and magnificent palaces, floating markets and modern shopping malls. Dine at world-class restaurants, or make like a local and sample unique street food like fried locusts and oyster omelette. After sightseeing, unwind at the hotel's stunning rooftop pool, complete with city skyline views. While here, you’ll also discover the regal Grand Palace and the Buddhist temple complex of Wat Pho on a half-day’s excursion. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Ayutthaya

You'll then go on a full-day excursion to the ancient city of Ayutthaya - the former Thai capital and a treasured UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the way, you'll witness the mesh of European and Thai architecture at Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, before continuing by long-tail boat to Ayutthaya. Founded in 1350 by King Uthong and obliterated by the Burmese in the 18th century, you'll see magnificent temples and ruins that evoke this city's past splendour. You'll spend your last night in Bangkok - perhaps take a stroll down Khao San Road and experience the capital's vibrant nightlife. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 4 & 5: Kanchanaburi

It’s time to say goodbye to the buzzing lights of Bangkok and on to your next adventure: Kanchanaburi. After a two-hour transfer, you’ll be diving head first into buckets full of history: first up is the War Cemetery, where a memorial to over 6,000 allied prisoners of war resides, then onto the Thai-Burma Railway Museum to learn the sobering story of the Death Railway. You’ll also be taken on a long-tail boat trip over the famous and incredibly scenic River Kwai to see the historic railroad bridge. The next day, a powerful trip to the Hellfire Pass is on the cards, where you can pay tribute to the Austrailians and other prisoners of war who laboured during World War II. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 6: Kanchanaburi - Bangkok - Krabi

Departing early in the morning, you’ll transfer back to Bangkok for your flight to Krabi. The transfer takes approximately three and a half hours. Upon arrival in Krabi, you’ll be taken to Aonang Villa Resort, where your tranquil retreat begins. (Meals: breakfast)

Days 7 - 13: Krabi

With swathes of immaculate golden beaches, vibrant turquoise waters and dramatic kirsts rising out of the sea, Krabi is one picture-perfect stay. While it could be tempting to lay by the beach, cocktail in hand and let the warm breeze wash over you, make some time for temple-hunting and exploring. Wat Tham Seua is under 10 kilometres away from Krabi Town, and is an impressive temple complex perched high on a karst peak - climbing the 1,200 steps is not for the faint-hearted. You’ll certainly have earned yourself a feast back at your resort (and perhaps a spa treatment or two). After seven relaxing nights, you’ll head back to the UK. (Meals: breakfast)

Good to know

Please note the distance between Bangkok and Autthaya is around 80 kilometres, taking approximately two hours to drive. The distance between Bangkok and Krabi is 780 kilometres; the flight time from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Krabi airport is approximately an hour and a half.
