(Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Aguas Calientes

Travel down to Pisac, situated right by the sacred Urubamba River, and browse for souvenirs at a local market. Then, explore the town’s extensive ruins, including a guided tour of the Citadel of Pisac, in which you’ll see temples, homes, altars, carvings, tunnels, caves and the famous Intihuatana, ‘the hitching post of the sun’. Continue to Ollantaytambo to explore more ruins, then hop aboard the train to Aguas Calientes. (Meals: breakfast)

Travel along one of the most beautiful rail routes in the world as you head to Puno on a full-day journey. Once aboard, you can gorge to your heart’s content in the two dining cars decorated in the style of the Pullman cars of the 1920s. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)

Day 9: Puno

After breakfast, sail out onto the deep blue waters of magical Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake said to be the birthplace of the Incas. Later on, sail towards Taquile Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a traditional Andean buffet lunch and plenty of free time. (Meals: breakfast, lunch)
