Day 1: UK - Kathmandu

Touching down in Kathmandu, you'll step off the plane and into the spiritual core of one of the world's most charismatic countries. You’ll check into your first hotel and spend the entire day at leisure, wandering in and out of vibrant markets and exploring some of its highlights - the historic Old Town and the Garden of Dreams are a good place to start. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 2: Kathmandu - Bhaktapur - Kathmandu

Spend today visiting the 'City of Devotees', Bhaktapur, the third of the three royal cities in Kathmandu Valley. Explore the Royal Palace, the Temple of the Five Roofs and the Changu Narayan Temple (Nepal's oldest), before returning to the hotel. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Kathmandu

Today explore the city. You'll visit Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, which boasts incredible views across the valley, Patan and the Temple of the living goddess Kumari. There’s also an optional Mount Everest flight-seeing excursion in the morning, should you wish (£200pp). (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Kathmandu - Chitwan

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Chitwan National Park, one of the richest parks in Asia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You'll go on a one-hour nature walk then enjoy dinner, followed by a Tharu Dance Stick show, performed by local farmers. (Meals: breakfast, dinner)

Day 5: Chitwan

Today you'll visit Chitwan National Park early in the morning, then return to the hotel for breakfast before visiting majestic elephants at the Elephant Breeding Centre. Enjoy lunch, then a three-hour Jeep safari, followed by a boat cruise and dinner. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 6: Chitwan - Pokhara

As you make the journey to Pokhara, you’ll pay a visit to Bandipur Village and learn the practices of the Newari culture. There’s intricate architecture as well as small cafés and temples to see. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Pokhara

Take in a beautiful Himalayan sunrise at Sarangkot. You’ll also see the Devi Waterfall, the Sacred Cave of Gupteshwor, and Old Bazaar of Pokhara, and enjoy a boat ride on Phewa Lake - Pokhara's largest - today. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Pokhara - Kathmandu

You’ll drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying the dramatic landscapes and scenery along your six-hour drive, then check back into Ghangri Boutique for one night. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Kathmandu - Nagarkot

Journey to Nagarkot, a beautiful village nestled in the mountains boasting views of the Himalayas. Spend the rest of the day a leisure on arrival. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Nagarkot

Spend your day hiking around the area, and bask in the simplicity of the natural landscapes, terraced farmland and Himalayan views. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 11: Nagarkot - Kathmandu

Today you’ll head back to Kathmandu for the last time. On arrival, enjoy a guided visit to Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath. Spend your afternoon at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Kathmandu

Enjoy a final breakfast then relax or get some last-minute souvenirs before you head back to the airport. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Kathmandu - UK

Arrive back in the UK (depending on your choice of flight you may arrive back in the UK on day 13. (Meals: breakfast)
