A super-central base from which to explore Iceland's best bits in winter or summer, with either a Northern Lights cruise or Golden Circle tour plus seasonal options - breakfast, all travel and spa access included

  • Reykjavik is all about rampant nature and scintillating colours. In this vibrant city, you’ll get to stay in artsy style at Thingholt by Center Hotels, a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice pick, ranking among Reykjavik's top 20 hotels on the site. The hotel's contemporary design comes courtesy of Icelandic architect, Gulla Jonsdottir, and her modern style permeates throughout the hotel’s interior. While you're here, you'll be blessed with daily access to the hotel's pampering spa, to warm you up after days in the cold.

  • If you decide that you want to experience Iceland in winter, you'll be seeking out the Northern Lights on an unforgettable cruise, offering every chance of spotting this enigmatic phenomenon. While in summer, when the midnight sun shines brightly over Iceland's lush, green landscapes, you'll head to the Golden Circle and see it in a different light (you can also opt to visit the Golden Cirlce in winter, though, so you won't be missing out). This tour will see you surveying the landscapes that put Iceland on the must-do map, like Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area.

  • In both seasons a Blue Lagoon excursion is also included, so you can dip and dive into some of the country's most iconic thermal waters. Other optional excursions include an awe-inspiring boat trip to watch whales and dolphins, and a chance to explore the filming locations of HBO's Game of Thrones on an epic tour from Thingvellir National Park to Þjórsárdalur Valley, tracing the journies of the Stark sisters.

Good to know

The Northern Lights are, of course, a naturally occurring phenomenon, so while you will have a good chance of seeing them (and we'll keep our fingers crossed for you), we cannot guarantee that they will oblige.

Please note that the Northern Lights can be observed up until the end of April, and then again from mid August - contrary to popular belief, the end of August is actually a great time to spot them. The official dates for the midnight sun are 16 to 29 June, but you can experience "no darkness" from May to early August.
