Day 3: Wilpattu - Jaffna

Distance from Wilpattu: 320km

Day 4: Jaffna

Take a public boat to Nagadeepa, an islet that is a sacred place of worship for both Hindus and Buddhists. In the evening, learn the perfect way to prepare crab in a rich Jaffna curry.

Day 6: Dambulla

In the morning, begin your tour with a visit to the phenomenal Sigiriya ‘Lion Rock’ Fortress, a towering citadel that you can climb for breathtaking views over the plains. Later, take a catamaran across a scenic reservoir to a local village, where you can take a walk through paddy fields and help to prepare a simple, traditional Sri Lankan lunch.

Day 7: Dambulla - Kalkudah

Transfer to Kalkudah and enjoy a leisurely cycling tour of the Polonnaruwa area, covering around 10 kilometres on a flat route. Discover the local way of life and pass through beautiful scenery, before being driven into the city for an optional tour the ancient, time-frozen ruins.
